Elegant district where you will find many embassies, government offices in beautiful old preserved buildings and the most famous site in Paris: the Eiffel Tower.

Not to be missed:
-The Eiffel Tower built by Gustave Eiffel for the Exposition Universelle (World's Fair) in Paris in 1889. It has since become the most significant symbol of Paris.
-The Invalides were built by an order of Louis XIV in 1670 as a home and hospital for aged and unwell soldiers that otherwise would have ended homeless. Nowadays, the buildings contain among others the Museum of the French Army as well as the burial monuments for some of France's war heroes such as Napoleon Bonaparte.
-The Orsay Museum. Formerly a railway station built between 1898 and 1900. This beautiful edifice now houses a museum with mainly French Arts ranging from the end of the 19th century to early 20th century. It is renowed for its impressive and most important collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces in the world.
